A partial success only and so a more serious attack would have to wait until I was home the following day. An unsuspecting hotel gave rooms for three dirty travellers and I had my first attempt to clean my feet. Our return journey through France saw us stop for the night at Limoges, a city famous for its china. Everywhere I walked it stuck to my feet and it was no use worrying about it or trying to keep too clean as it would have been a hopeless task.Īs I have mentioned I had success at showering with very little water but doing something about the feet would have to wait until I was away from Nowhere, away from the dust. Tune in to see how we get on this time.Įarlier I wrote about the dust at Nowhere, about its constant presence and how the wind blew this fine talc around the place. Last year, with the luxury of a car, we were able to take a lot of stuff with us – much of which went unused so I have learned a lesson from that. There will be some things that we will not be able to take this time and so we plan to buy them there and sacrifice them at the end of it and put it down to the cost of the trip. Flying means that we will have to be careful with the amount of stuff we take as it has to fit within BA’s baggage allowance. This time we are going to fly to Barcelona and hire a car there to go the short distance to Nowhere. We managed to limp a couple of miles home but it was close. Thankfully, that was not until we were about to disembark from the ferry at Portsmouth upon our return when the water pump failed. Last year the trip was long and boring on the motorways of France and eventually took its toll on the car. This year there will be just the two of us and we are not driving this time. If you’ve been reading this blog you will know that three of us travelled by car down through France to Spain and back – a round trip of about ten days. Last year’s trip was quite an experience and was my first time there. So, here we are in 2013 having decided that I must go to Nowhere once more.
